  is proud to host a dinner with former Thayer School Dean\, Charles
  “Hutch” Hutchinson.  Prof. Hutchinson\, the ‘07 New Hampshire
  Entrepreneur of the Year\, will discuss the founding\, development and
  eventual sale of Glycofi\, Inc. to Merck & Co. for $400 million.  At the
  time of the sale\, the purchase price was reportedly the largest sum ever
  paid for a privately held biotech company.\n\nGlycoFi developed a
  scientifically groundbreaking technology that enhanced the discovery\,
  development and production of novel drugs.  In 2000\, Hutch\, with
  Associate Professor of Engineering\, Tillman Gerngross\, co-founded
  GlycoFi.  Hutch served as CEO of GlycoFi until it was acquired by Merck
  in May 2006.  In these roles\, he oversaw the raising of $34.6 million in
  four rounds of venture backed financing.  Now “retired” for the
  fourth or fifth time\, Hutch is teaching a course in New Venture Creation
  at Thayer.\n\nPlease join us for a night of dinner\, discovery\, and
