Location

The Minneapolis Club

R.S.V.P.

Info will be coming.

The Dartmouth Club of the Midwest Annual Dinner. Dianna Pierce (Twin Cities news personality) has volunteered to speak to our club at the annual dinner.  For nine years, Dianna has been researching the life and times of a Dartmouth Alumni. Dr. Charles Eastman, Dartmouth Class of 1887, was a full blooded Sioux Native American. Dr. Eastman attended both Dartmouth and Boston University. He was instrumental in the development of medical
practices on reservations in the Midwest. He was the only Native American to write first hand accounts of massacre at Wounded Knee. He was a key negotiator in peace Treaties in Minnesota and the Dakotas, and finally was a
good friend of Mark Twain.

Event

New student reception

Date

6:30 PM, Tuesday, April 20th

Location

The Minneapolis Club

This will be a reception for Twin Cities students who were accepted to Dartmouth for the Class of '03.
The students will just have been notified by the college, so this event will be critical in convincing them that Dartmouth is their best choice. Related to this, the club has ordered 30 Dartmouth T-Shirts. We plan to deliver these to the accepted student's home the week of acceptance. We hope this will demonstrate the Club's and Schools interest in the students. If you would like to be on the T-Shirt patrol, contact Dennis Ryan (it should be fun).
